THE 360 ROUTE
The beautiful and ancient “Cami de Cavalls” (or “Horse Path)” has encircled the magnificent Balearic Island of Menorca for hundreds of years. This is the Start Point (pictured right).
It is split into 20 sections around the whole island with individual numbered posts punctuating the trail.
It was originally completed to provide a ring of protection that soldiers could reach on horseback to protect the Mediterranean shorelines. Nowadays, it stands as a perfectly crafted and signposted route for all to enjoy. ‘Yes’, it is signposted the whole way around!
At 185 Km (115 miles) long, start to finish, with a maximum elevation of 120 metres, it serves as a significant and meaningful personal challenge for anyone to complete.
Physical journey aside, it is a stunningly picturesque platform to reap so many rewards emotionally, psychologically, spiritually and habitually to pivot, or enhance, your life in a new transformative way.

On day 4 we drop you back 12 miles (by road) to Cala Morell to finish off the north of the island in style with a lunch time arrival in the historic city of Ciutadella (or “Old town”) which we’re sure you’ll want to have a bit of look around. DAY 5: The ‘finally it’s flat’ beach day – Cala n’Bosch to Cala Galdana* (0900 hrs start)
On day 5, you get to breathe a sigh of relief as the terrain flattens right out to back beach coastal paths, boardwalks, and forest. Onto Platja Macarella for lunchtime after a day of glorious beaches with LOADS of opportunities to swim! Some people even do this day in flip flops or sandals; although that’s NOT a recommendation!
Start Hotel (recommended): Globales Cala n’Bosch
Distance: 12 miles (+/- 0.5 miles)
Hilly or Flat: Mainly gentle undulations with a few easy hills and LOTS of amazing beaches
Lunch RV Point: N/A. Road access to the Cami de Cavalls is very poor after Cala n Bosch so we recommend having brunch/ a snack at Bar Susy on Platja Macarella at 9 miles in

Average duration: 4 - 6 hrs (depending on how much you swim!)
End of day hotel: Comitas Floramar, Cala Galdana
—
DAY 6: The ‘beach’ day – Cala Galdana to Cala Canutells (0830 hrs start)
There are incredible beaches all over the island but this morning just keeps giving including a very long last one in Son Bou. From there, with 10 miles to go, it’s a few hours challenging hike off road slightly inland to bring you into the picturesque little town of Canutells. Plenty of opportunities to swim in the morning but technical and tough in the afternoon - fuel up in Son Bou! Don’t let this day catch you out, the last 10 miles are no joke; it’s craggy, hilly, rocky and tough. An average time is 4 hours to walk the last 10 miles hence why we want to get you away by 1400 hrs.
Start Hotel (recommended): Comitas Floramar, Cala Galdana
Distance: 22 miles (+/- 0.5 miles)
Hilly or Flat: A very undulating start with some wooded sections, long stretches of beaches and pavement. The second half is no joke! It’s hilly, unsteady underfoot with plenty of shorter ascents and descents. This is a tough and technical day that lulls you into a false sense of security before lunch; the last 10 miles are some of the most challenging of the whole Cami!
Cut off RV Point: Son Bou bus station/ Car Park (cut off 1430 hrs; ideally be away no later than 1400 hrs)
Lunch RV Point: We recommend a coffee stop at Es Bruc in Sant Tomas and eating in Son Bou (but, keep an eye on timings, aim to be away from Son Bou by 1400 hrs latest!)
Any shops or supermarkets?: Yes
Average duration: 8 - 9 hrs
End of day hotel: Grupotel Mar de Menorca, Cala Canutells
—
DAY 7: The last day – Cala Canutells to Es Castell, Mahon (0900 hrs start)
The 7th day has real ‘last day’ vibes about it as it’s by far the easiest with plenty of coastal pavements, little towns and pretty off road trails towards the back half. You will head over the hill from the stunning Cala de Sant Esteve and then start your final descent into east Mahon on the seafront (turn right at ‘iWash’ laundromat) finishing at the Barcelo Hamilton Hotel.
Start Hotel (recommended): Grupotel Mar de Menorca, Cala Canutells
Distance: 15 miles (+/- 0.5 miles)
Hilly or Flat: Mainly flat, lots of pavements, a few volcanic rocky bits and a few gentle quick climbs
Lunch RV Point: We recommend eating in Punta Prima (The restaurant ‘Aire’ is very good and on the beach!) as there are many café options and supermarkets and you can go for a swim!
Any shops or supermarkets?: Yes
End of day hotel: Up to you but we can recommend the Barcelo Hamilton or Hotel Agamemnon, Es Castell
There is much uncertainty about where the official Cami de Cavalls actually finishes but, our route finishes at the Barcelo Hamilton, deep inside Stage 20 (the final stage) of the route. Some say it finishes at the Port, some at the marina. If you feel you need to continue on, you can of course feel free…no-one has yet though! 115 miles is the official distance and that’s what we do.
